DECREPIT BIRTH Welcomes Back Bassist RISHA ERYAVEC

November 27, 2006

Santa Cruz, California-based death metallers DECREPIT BIRTH have posted the following message on their official web site:

"DECREPIT BIRTH is very happy to announce that bassist Risha Eryavec is officially returning to the band! Due to recent situations, Risha feels that his place is with us, as our permanent bassist. We couldn't be more happy to have our brother back with us. Hopefully this will be the first step in moving on from the devastating situation we have been dealing with over the past month. Also, we would like to thank Erlend Caspersen for offering his amazing skills to help us out. Even though he never actually did any recording or touring with us, the fact that he so generously offered his talent to contribute to the band was really cool.

"We will be moving ahead with the recording of the next album and plans to record in February of 2007 are still on! We are also working on setting up some really good tours and fests for 2007."

As previously reported, DECREPIT BIRTH has set "Diminishing Between Worlds" as the title of its new album, tentatively due next year via Unique Leader Records. "This album will be a step in more of a melodic and progressive direction yet still have a heavy dose of technical brutality," guitarist/vocalist Matt Sotelo previously said. "Very reminiscent of bands such as later DEATH, CYNIC and QUO VADIS mixed with the brutality that DECREPIT BIRTH is known for. We are really trying to do something new with album, and we feel that we have grown as musicians and that 'Diminishing Between Worlds' will be a reflection of that. We are very happy to get to work with Unique Leader Records again, and we are confident that they will greatly contribute to the success of DECREPIT BIRTH from now into the future. Artwork will be by none other than Dan Seagrave."

DECREPIT BIRTH's debut album, "...And Time Begins", was released in October 2003 via Unique Leader Records.
